Italian Textile Machinery Showcased at ITM Istanbul, Turkey

Italy’s textile machinery industry made a significant impact at the ITM trade fair in Istanbul, Turkey, underscoring the strong trade relations between the two nations. With Turkey being a major player in the global textile and garment industry, Italian manufacturers seized the opportunity to showcase their advanced machinery and technological innovations.

In 2023, Italy’s textile machinery exports to Turkey reached a notable 183 million euros, highlighting Turkey’s position as the second-largest market for Italian textile machinery. This substantial presence at ITM Istanbul from June 4-8, 2024, reflects the importance of this partnership.

Italian companies, represented both individually and through agents, were prominent at the event. The The Italian Trade Agency and ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) organized a dedicated area in Hall MA, booth M004, featuring 16 esteemed ACIMIT members. These included Bematic, Kairos, Macchine Caru, Martex, Noseda, Ommi, Pafasystem, Pinter Caipo, Proxima, Ramina, Ratti, Sicam, Siltex, Testa, and Ugolini.

Marco Salvade, president of ACIMIT, emphasized the deep-rooted collaboration with Turkish textile manufacturers, stating, “Italy’s textile machinery sector has a longstanding partnership with Turkey. From 2011 to 2023, the local textile industry invested around US$ 80 billion in new technologies, often involving Italian machinery.”

Salvade further highlighted the sector’s goal to maintain and enhance its leadership in the Turkish market through cutting-edge technological developments, especially in the digitalization of production processes. “We are committed to offering solutions that boost efficiency and optimize production. Visitors at ITM will undoubtedly discover innovative technologies at our exhibitors’ booths, tailored to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish textiles.”

This showcase at ITM Istanbul not only strengthens the ties between Italy and Turkey but also sets the stage for future collaborations, driving growth and innovation in the global textile machinery market.
