In an exclusive interview C. Dhandayuthapani, Managing Director, MAG Solvics Pvt. Ltd., shares insights on innovation, automation, and sustainability, while highlighting MAG’s partnership with A.T.E. Enterprises and its showcase of cutting-edge testing solutions at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025.

Q. As a leading international player in textile engineering, how do you view ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 as a platform to showcase innovation and engage with Asian and global markets?
Yes, it is the platform where MAG can able to showcase the state of art products to the international customers. We know the need of international customers where our products will be appreciated in terms of features with automation / without human interference in the testing cycles. All products inbuilt with high level of accuracy / reliability and international acceptability.
Q. Your collaboration with A.T.E. Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. has been long-standing. How has this partnership helped you strengthen your presence in India and South Asia?
Our association with A.T.E is more than 15 years and it is beyond the business. We leant lot from them in terms customers’ requirements and meeting the market demands from time to time. Based on their inputs, we brought lot of new products and they helped lot to establish ourselves in the market. The team is so cordial and very professional. We are here today because of A.T.E.
Q. What cutting-edge technologies or solutions will your company highlight at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, and how do they align with global industry needs?
We are showcasing 3 important products in the exhibition where we used the latest technology available in the world:
Fully automatic High volume fibre testing (HVT Genius 2) will definitely reveal the capabilities of MAG in terms of technologies and user friendliness. Roto Sampler; auto feeding to fineness module and compactness are the key features of the product.
In the same way, Splice strength tester (SpliceRay) and movable wrap block (MotoHank) have special features which customers will definitely appreciate.
Q. Sustainability is at the forefront of the textile industry. How is your company addressing the twin goals of resource efficiency and environmental responsibility through your latest innovations?
Yes, we are very conscious on sustainability and environmentally friendly. Components and raw materials used in the new instruments are adhered to norms to meet the current need of sustainability (ex: using sheet metal instead of cast iron). It will also reduce the impact on environment. Effective management of resources in all aspects are the key in our focal point.
Q. How do your technologies support circularity and recycling in textiles—especially in areas like man-made fibres, technical textiles, or waste reduction?
Our instruments can be used to test the quality parameters of the products manufactured from man-made fibres such as polyester, viscose, linen etc. Few of our instruments also fulfil the needs of Technical textile industry as well. Online spindle monitoring system supplied by MAG (SPinFO) to spinning mill will reduce their waste generation at ring frames during spinning the yarn.
Q. Can you share how your company is advancing digital solutions, automation, and smart factory concepts to enable higher productivity and consistency for textile mills?
Yes, we are supporting industry in their digitalisation and automation to enhance their productivity. Few of the examples are as follows:
MotoHank: Movable Wrap block in trolley with automatic data transfer to the ERP system without internet connectivity. This Wrap block will be used in spinning industry near the production machine itself to test the hank of sliver / roving there by it reduces the wastage of material and tested results will automatically store in the ERP data base seamlessly.
HVT Genius 2: Fully automatic test comb preparation and testing of length & strength of cotton fibre and automatic insertion of sample in micronaire testing chamber reduces the human interference. By this way, the operator can test more number of samples in given time.
SPinFO – MAG Online spindle monitoring system with roving stop motion will monitor Ring spinning operation round the clock such as production, efficiency, power consumption, breakage level etc., of spinning frame and provide the data instantly to the users through App. So, user can know the happenings wherever in the world. Like above, when we develop any products, we ensure that its meet Industry 4.0
Q. India is emerging as a global textile hub. What role does India play in your company’s global strategy, and how do you see demand evolving here?
India plays major role for the industries like us in terms of Technological support and motivating the companies to do R & D with current demand in order to competitive with other parts of world.
Q. What permanent shifts in buyer expectations or supply chain models have you observed post-Covid, and how are your solutions enabling manufacturers to adapt?
It is very challenging scenario. Customer demand is more on cost effective. All products should support manufacturers to reduce the cost of production by any means at every stage of production. Moreover, supports for the products required maximum through online rather than physical presence. To meet such challenges, we are providing necessary solutions in our products which definitely helping not only buyers, but us also.
Buyers are getting the data online and at the same time, if any support required on the equipment, we are able to do smoothly with the help of online supporting system.
Q. Are you exploring any joint research, co-innovation, or technology-transfer initiatives with A.T.E. or Indian industry players to better serve this market?
It is our continuous process & in our blood too. We keep on introducing new products with the collaboration of stakeholders / industry players / educational & research institutes. That is the reason, MAG has more than 140 products in their basket of offerings for the entire value chain.
Q. What message would you like to share with Indian textile entrepreneurs, policymakers, and stakeholders as they prepare to engage with your technologies at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025
Automation and Direct data access are need of the hour which MAG will definitely give through their products and solutions. They can witness the same in ITMA ASIA 2025.
