DKTE’s Textile & Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Trident Group, one of India’s leading manufacturers in textiles and home essentials. The partnership aims to strengthen industry–academia collaboration, enhance skill development, and expand research-driven opportunities for students and faculty.

The MoU was formalised during a ceremonial event attended by senior representatives from both institutions. Under the collaboration, DKTE students will gain access to specialised training modules, industrial internships, live projects, plant visits, and expert-led workshops conducted by Trident professionals. Faculty members will also benefit from joint research assignments and exposure to advanced industrial practices.

The partnership further aims to encourage innovation through idea incubation, prototype development, and applied research at DKTE’s innovation and research centres, enabling students to work on industry-relevant challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Mrs. L. S. Admuthe, Director of DKTE’s Textile & Engineering Institute, said, “This collaboration with the Trident Group marks a significant milestone in enhancing our academic ecosystem. The industrial excellence and vast expertise of Trident will play a crucial role in nurturing industry-ready professionals.”

Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Dr. U. J. Patil, Head of the Department, stated, “The MoU opens up new pathways for knowledge sharing, practical exposure, and collaborative innovation. It will help our students stay aligned with emerging industry trends and foster meaningful research outcomes.”

The collaboration is expected to create impactful opportunities for DKTE’s textile and engineering community, while strengthening the institute’s long-standing commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry.
