Dr. Gurudas Aras Conferred Honorary FTA Award at TAI International Conference in Coimbatore

Dr. Gurudas Aras, a distinguished veteran of the Indian textile and textile machinery industry, was conferred the prestigious Honorary FTA (Fellow of Textile Association) Award for 2024–25 by The Textile Association of India (TAI). The award ceremony took place during TAI’s international conference held at Hotel Le Meridien, Coimbatore, which witnessed the presence of nearly 700 participants from industry and academia.

The award was presented by Rajkumar, Vice Chairman, SITRA and former Chairman of SIMA and CITI, in the presence of leading industry dignitaries, including Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu (CMD, LMW), Dr. K. V. Srinivasan (MD, Premier Mills), Durai Palanisamy (ED, Pallava Group), S. Mannivannan (CMD, LS Mills), and senior TAI officials.

With a career spanning more than 44 years, Dr. Aras has made significant contributions to strengthening India’s textile value chain, advancing textile machinery capabilities, and supporting textile education nationwide. In his address, he expressed deep gratitude for the honour, noting that the recognition reflected not just his efforts but also the support of mentors, colleagues, customers, principals, friends, and family who shaped his professional journey.
