During the inauguration, the Prime Minister said the Warangal park would give a strong push to India’s textile revolution while generating large-scale employment, particularly for women.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, Telangana, marking a significant step in India’s industrial and textile development journey. Built at an investment of ₹1,695.54 crore, it is the country’s first operational PM MITRA Park and reflects the government’s 5F vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.

During the inauguration, the Prime Minister said the Warangal park would give a strong push to India’s textile revolution while generating large-scale employment, particularly for women.

The park is strategically located near the proposed Nagpur–Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and close to NH-163, offering strong multimodal connectivity to railway networks and seaports, ensuring efficient logistics support for global trade.

Developed as a world-class industrial ecosystem, the facility includes modern infrastructure such as an internal road network, dedicated power substation and assured water supply. Sustainability is a key focus area, with a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) incorporating Zero Liquid Discharge technology.

Spread over 1,327 acres, the park is expected to attract investments exceeding ₹6,000 crore. Around 62 per cent of the area has already been allotted. The project is projected to create over 24,400 jobs across the textile value chain, with thousands of jobs already generated.

The Ministry of Textiles had approved seven PM MITRA parks in March 2023 across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to strengthen India’s textile infrastructure ecosystem.

The Telangana government had originally proposed the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) at Warangal under the PM MITRA Scheme in March 2022. After being approved under the Brownfield category, the project became eligible for ₹200 crore in development capital support and ₹300 crore in Competitive Incentive Support (CIS) for industries establishing units in the park.

The Detailed Project Report for the PM MITRA Park, Warangal — including upgrades such as CETP conversion to Zero Liquid Discharge, a common boiler facility, expanded worker dormitories and a 10 MW solar power plant — was approved at the total project cost of ₹1,695.54 crore.

Of the 548 acres earmarked for industrial allotment, 310 acres were allocated after the PM MITRA announcement. Units in the park will gain access to globally benchmarked textile infrastructure and will also be eligible for CIS incentives supported by a dedicated ₹300 crore fund for each park.

Units in PM MITRA parks can also benefit through convergence with other Government of India schemes, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles. One such beneficiary at the Warangal park is Evertop Textile and Apparel Complex Pvt. Ltd., which is expected to generate employment for around 12,800 people with a proposed investment of ₹1,051 crore and an estimated annual turnover of ₹1,990 crore.

The PM MITRA scheme strengthens investor confidence by providing central support through Viability Gap Funding (VGF), enabling shared modern infrastructure and integrating textile parks into India’s broader textile strategy. It also significantly boosts Telangana’s ambition of becoming a textile manufacturing hub, transforming KMTP into a nationally prioritised and globally positioned textile ecosystem.
