Wazir Advisors Launches Strategic Guide to Unlock Duty-Free Export Opportunities for Indian Apparel Industry

The report arrives at a genuine inflection point for Indian apparel exporters.
Wazir Advisors has launched Unlocking Duty-Free Growth, a 300+ page strategic reference guide mapping duty-free market access opportunities for Indian apparel exporters across nine FTA/PTA markets: the EU, the UK, EFTA, Japan, South Korea, Australia, UAE, Oman, and New Zealand – together accounting for over $177 Bn. of global apparel imports.
The report arrives at a genuine inflection point for Indian apparel exporters. The India-UK CETA is on the verge of entry into force, set to eliminate duties across all apparel tariff lines. The India-EU FTA, expected to be operationalized within the next 12–18 months, will end the tariff disadvantage that has cost Indian exporters ground to Bangladesh and Vietnam. And with other FTAs in force or coming up, the architecture of preferential access is now, for the first time, substantively complete. In several of these markets, preferential arrangements are already operational – and India’s share remains well below its potential. Taken together, the next 24 months represent a window that is simultaneously the widest and the most time-sensitive the Indian apparel industry has faced.
“India’s apparel exports have punched below their weight for years. A significant part of the reason was that competitors enjoyed preferential access that India did not. That equation is now changing decisively. This report is designed to give exporters the market-specific intelligence to act on that window, not just acknowledge it,” said Varun Vaid, Business Director, Wazir Advisors.
The publication introduces the proprietary Wazir MAPS (Market Access Prioritisation Score) framework for cross-market opportunity ranking, alongside 60+ buyer profiles, 150+ data exhibits, and detailed Rules of Origin analysis across all nine agreements.
