KARL MAYER Launches High-Speed RS 2 Net Machine for Shade Net Production

The production of shade nets has always been the domain of Raschel machines – but with a new development, KARL MAYER is setting new standards in terms of productivity. The newcomer, the RS 2 Net, offers a maximum working speed of 1,200 stitches per minute, depending on the pattern and the raw material, making it the fastest Net machine on the market. When producing items with standard lappings, a mesh density of 3.5 meshes/cm, and 80% efficiency, an output of approximately 165 m/h can be achieved.
In addition, the RS 2 Net is exceptionally reliable, low-maintenance, and accurate. The quality of its net fabrics is a genuine competitive advantage.
Proven technology, equipped with features tailored to the application
The RS 2 Net is based on the proven basic design of a high-performance net machine from KARL MAYER. It processes polyethylene tapes, which can be fed particularly efficiently by a KARL MAYER FTL aggregat.
Features include:
- Two stitch-forming guide bars
- Gauge E 6 – with full threading, 1-in-1-out-threading, or 1-in-2-out-threading
- Working width 264″
- Double take-up für processing with folding device.
Thanks to the wide range of pattern possibilities and stitch densities available, the RS 2 Net’s comprehensive feature set allows for the production not only of shade nets but also of protective nets against insects, birds, and wind, as well as panel solutions for fences.
A machine for testing, experimenting, and innovating
The RS 2 Net is part of the machinery at KARL MAYER’s TEXTILE INNOVATION CENTER, which was inaugurated just this past April 2026. Customers, fiber manufacturers, and other partners in the textile value chain are invited to use the machine in the new, integrated development environment for processing trials, innovation projects, and the implementation of new ideas – or simply to explore the possibilities it offers.
