Belgium-based textile machinery leader Picanol N.V. successfully hosted a large-scale customer meet in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, on May 14, 2026, bringing together more than 300 customers, weaving professionals, textile entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders from across the region. The event highlighted Picanol’s continued commitment to the Indian textile industry and showcased the company’s latest advancements in weaving technology, automation, and digital connectivity.

The seminar commenced with an introductory address by Kasiviswanathan Palanisamy, who emphasized Bhilwara’s strategic importance in Picanol’s India growth story. Known as one of India’s leading centres for synthetic suiting and fabric manufacturing, Bhilwara remains a key market for Picanol, with a significant share of its textile production catering to both domestic and export markets.

Addressing the gathering, Palanisamy noted that the Bhilwara textile cluster has consistently demonstrated strong adoption of advanced weaving technologies, making it one of the most important hubs for Picanol’s rapier and airjet weaving solutions in India.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of Picanol’s latest innovations in airjet and rapier weaving technologies. The company introduced the recently launched OmniPlus-i Connect airjet weaving machine — unveiled earlier at ITMA Asia Singapore — to the Bhilwara textile industry for the first time. The machine drew strong interest from industry participants for its combination of high productivity, advanced digital integration, and energy-efficient performance.

Picanol also showcased its latest developments in smart weaving technologies, including PicConnect, the company’s centralized digital platform designed to provide real-time machine monitoring, production analytics, and AI-driven optimization capabilities. The seminar demonstrated how digital connectivity and intelligent automation are increasingly becoming essential tools for weaving mills aiming to enhance operational efficiency and remain globally competitive.

An overwhelming response from the textile fraternity in Bhilwara, a market that has always played a vital role in Picanol’s growth journey in India, was expressed with delight by Kasiviswanathan Palanisamy.

Speaking on Picanol’s market presence in India, Palanisamy revealed that more than 30,000 Picanol weaving machines are currently operating across the country. He further stated that the company continues to maintain a dominant position in the rapier weaving segment, backed by its strong reputation for productivity, fabric quality, machine reliability, and long-term operational performance.

Another important focus area during the seminar was sustainability and resource optimization. Picanol highlighted its latest waste-saving innovations in rapier weaving technology, particularly systems designed to reduce selvedge waste on both sides of the fabric. These developments enable mills to achieve substantial raw material savings while simultaneously improving operational efficiency and sustainability performance.

The technical presentations also emphasized the company’s focus on high-speed weaving combined with lower energy consumption, aligning with the textile industry’s growing shift toward sustainable manufacturing practices. Picanol representatives explained how the latest generation of weaving machines is engineered to deliver maximum production speeds with optimized power utilization, helping manufacturers reduce operating costs and environmental impact.

In addition to technology presentations, the event served as an important platform for strengthening industry relationships and engaging directly with textile manufacturers from the Bhilwara region. Company representatives also highlighted the capabilities of Picanol’s dedicated Indian service and technical support teams, reinforcing customer confidence in local after-sales support and operational assistance.

The event witnessed participation from several prominent personalities from the textile industry, along with leading mill owners, weaving professionals, and textile entrepreneurs from the Bhilwara textile cluster. Their strong presence reflected the growing interest among Indian weaving mills in next-generation weaving technologies, smart manufacturing systems, and energy-efficient production solutions.

With the successful conclusion of the Bhilwara customer meet, Picanol further reinforced its long-standing association with the Indian textile industry while underlining its commitment to supporting mills with advanced weaving technologies designed for productivity, sustainability, and future-ready manufacturing.
