With over five decades of industry experience, Jumac Manufacturing Private Limited has established itself as a trusted name in sliver-handling solutions for the spinning industry. In this exclusive interaction with Textile Sphere India, Himanshu Fogla, Director, Jumac Manufacturing, discusses the company’s journey from manufacturing world-class sliver cans to developing intelligent solutions such as Ji+, its IIoT-enabled sliver management platform. He shares insights on automation, sustainability, customer-centric innovation, and the evolving needs of modern spinning mills, while outlining Jumac’s vision for smarter, more efficient, and technology-driven textile manufacturing.

Q. As one of the leading manufacturers of sliver cans, what are the key performance advantages offered by Jumac’s solutions, and how do they contribute to improving productivity and quality in modern spinning mills?

HF: At Jumac, we have always believed that a can is not just a container—it is an important part of the sliver-handling process. Our focus is simple: consistent dimensions, strength, smooth movement and long service life. After five decades in this industry, we understand that small things matter when a mill is handling thousands of cans every day. Our job is to make sure the customer does not have to worry about the can. That reliability, along with our complete range of sliver-handling products, helps mills improve productivity and maintain consistency.

Q. What are the key products and innovations that Jumac Manufacturing will be showcasing at India ITME 2026?

HF: At India ITME 2026, we will showcase our complete sliver-handling range—spinning and sliver cans, trolleys, casters, springs and related accessories, along with our newer solutions. A key highlight will be Ji+, our IIoT-enabled sliver management solution. It brings visibility and control to can movement and helps mills move towards smarter, more traceable operations. For us, innovation is useful only when it solves a real problem for the customer.

Q. How are evolving customer expectations influencing product development and innovation at Jumac? How do you view the current growth prospects of the Indian textile machinery industry?

HF: Customer expectations have changed. Today, customers want more than a good product—they want consistency, long life, quick response and value for money. We listen closely to our customers because many of our product improvements have come from real mill-floor requirements.

I remain positive about the Indian textile machinery industry. India has a strong textile base and an equally strong engineering capability. I believe the next growth will come from modernisation, automation and better efficiency—and Indian machinery manufacturers have a big opportunity here.

Q. Sustainability and operational efficiency are becoming critical for textile mills. How do Jumac’s solutions help customers improve productivity and reduce costs?

HF: For us, sustainability starts with making a product that lasts. A durable can with a long service life means fewer replacements, lower maintenance and better value for the customer.

We also look at the complete system—cans, casters, springs, trolleys and accessories—to make sliver handling smoother and more efficient.

With solutions such as Ji+, we are taking this further by helping mills improve visibility, utilisation and control. Ultimately, our philosophy is simple: help the customer produce more efficiently and avoid unnecessary costs.

Q. How important are quality, precision engineering, and reliability in maintaining competitiveness in both domestic and export markets?

HF: Quality and reliability are non-negotiable for us. We have been in this business since 1974, and we have learnt that a customer does not remember one good delivery—they remember whether you delivered consistently for years.

Our customers in India and overseas expect the same quality every time. That is why we put strong emphasis on precision manufacturing, process control and consistency.

We do not want to compete only on price. We want the customer to feel that choosing Jumac is a safe and dependable decision.

Q. How is Jumac leveraging automation, digitalization, and advanced manufacturing practices in its operations?

HF: We are using automation and digitalisation where they genuinely add value. The objective is not to automate simply for the sake of it, but to improve consistency, traceability and productivity. Ji+ is an important step in this direction, giving mills better visibility and control over sliver and can movement.

On the manufacturing side, we continue to strengthen process control, precision manufacturing and inspection. For us, it is about combining the experience we have built over five decades with the technology needed for the future.

Q. What significance does India ITME 2026 hold for Jumac in terms of customer engagement, technology showcase, and business development?

HF: India ITME 2026 is an important opportunity for us to meet our customers and the wider textile industry under one roof. For me, exhibitions are not only about displaying products. They are about listening. Some of the best ideas come from sitting across the table with a customer and understanding what is happening on the mill floor.

We also see ITME as an opportunity to show how Jumac is moving from being known primarily for cans to offering complete sliver-handling solutions and smarter technologies.

Q. Looking ahead, what is your vision for Jumac Manufacturing, and what message would you like to share with the textile industry as it prepares for the next phase of growth and modernization?

HF: Our vision is quite simple: to remain a trusted partner to the spinning industry and keep improving with our customers. Jumac has come a long way since 1974, and our next phase will be about combining that experience with better technology, automation and smarter sliver-handling solutions.
My message to the industry is: modernise, but keep the business objective clear. Technology should improve productivity, quality and efficiency—not simply add complexity.

At Jumac, we will continue to listen to our customers, improve our products and deliver with the same reliability they have come to expect from us.
